Asphalt shingle roof replacement: what gets replaced
A roof replacement starts by removing the old shingles so the crew can see what is underneath. Once the roof is opened up, we check the decking for damage. Damaged boards or OSB are replaced where needed before the new roof layers go on. That inspection matters because covering a soft or damaged area with new shingles does not address the surface below them.
Next comes new synthetic underlayment over the prepared decking. Ice and water shield goes at the eaves, in valleys and around roof penetrations where water needs extra attention. We check the drip edge, flashing around openings and vents, replacing those components as needed for the scope of the roof. Then we install the new asphalt shingles and clean up the property when the work is done.

Frequently asked questions
When should a roof be replaced instead of repaired?
Age, widespread damage, repeated leaks, and deterioration across the system can make replacement a better long-term choice. An inspection helps determine the right path.
How long does a roof replacement take?
The schedule depends on the size, materials, weather, and condition of the existing roof. We provide a clear timeline before work begins.
