What to do right now

  1. Stay safe. Do not climb on a wet or damaged roof. Keep away from sagging or bulging ceilings, wet light fixtures and electrical equipment. If there is an immediate danger, leave the area and call emergency services.
  2. Catch water only where it is safe. Place a bucket under a drip without standing beneath a sagging ceiling. Do not puncture or disturb a bulging ceiling.
  3. Move what you safely can. Protect furniture, electronics and important belongings without entering an unsafe area.
  4. Take photos from a safe location. Document visible roof damage, ceiling stains and affected belongings for your records.
  5. Call 402-909-3421. We will discuss what is happening and let you know about our availability.

What we do on an emergency call

  • Assess the damaged area and discuss temporary protection, including tarping where appropriate and safe.
  • Check flashing, vents and missing shingles for a repair or temporary measure suited to the damage.
  • Assess openings left by fallen limbs. Stay clear of a roof that may be structurally damaged.
  • Document visible roof damage with photos and construction notes for you to share with your insurance adjuster.
  • Explain the permanent repair or replacement options once the roof can be safely inspected.

Common emergencies we handle

  • Shingles torn off by high winds
  • Hail damage associated with roof leaks
  • Roof damage from fallen tree limbs
  • Leaks around chimneys, skylights and vents
  • Ice dams and winter water intrusion

Frequently asked questions

How fast can you get here?

Call 402-909-3421 and we will discuss availability. Arrival depends on the weather, safe access and our schedule. We serve Omaha, Elkhorn, Waterloo, Valley, Bennington and nearby towns.

Does insurance pay for emergency tarping?

Coverage depends on your policy and the circumstances. Ask your insurer about temporary protection and any documentation it needs. Keep receipts and photos; we can provide roofing photos and construction notes, but we do not determine coverage.

Is a tarp a permanent fix?

No. Tarping is temporary protection, and its performance depends on the damage, installation and weather. Arrange a roof inspection to discuss permanent repair or replacement; do not assume a tarp makes the roof safe.

Should I call my insurance company first?

Keep people safe and contact emergency services if there is immediate danger. Contact your insurer for policy-specific instructions, and call us about roof inspection or temporary protection. We document roofing damage; you and your insurer make claim and coverage decisions.
