01 / The wall behind the panel

Protect the walls behind the exterior.

Siding helps manage weather at exterior walls, corners, windows, doors, and transitions. We inspect damaged panels and the surrounding details before recommending a targeted repair or a broader replacement, including coordination with soffit, fascia, and trim where needed.

  • Siding replacement and targeted repair
  • Vinyl and fiber cement options
  • Soffit, fascia, and exterior trim
  • Window, corner, and transition details
  • Hail and wind damage inspection

02 / Main services

Choose the work your exterior actually needs.

01

Siding Installation

Professional siding installation that combines curb appeal, carefully planned exterior details and appropriate moisture protection.

Explore Installation

Installation starts with the wall, not the panel. We review the sheathing, the weather barrier, and the openings so windows, doors, corners, and transitions are detailed before the finish goes on.

Siding Replacement

Refresh your home's exterior while addressing aging, deteriorated or damaged siding materials.

Explore Replacement

Replacement makes sense when damage, fading, or loose panels are widespread, or when a compatible profile and color are no longer practical to match. Removing old cladding also lets us see what is happening behind it.

Siding Repair

Repair cracked, loose, missing or damaged siding before minor exterior problems become more extensive.

Explore Repairs

A targeted repair can work when damage is contained. The location and extent of damage, the condition of adjacent material, fastening, the weather barrier, and profile or color availability all affect whether it is practical.

03 / Siding materials

Four materials. No single right answer.

Each material trades appearance, weight, and upkeep differently. None is hail-proof or maintenance-free; the right choice depends on your wall assembly and priorities. Images illustrate exterior styles, not verified products or materials.

Vinyl Siding

Versatile Style. Practical Maintenance.

A widely used cladding available in many profiles and colors, from traditional lap to vertical styles.

  • Lighter weight panels
  • Broad range of profiles and colors
  • Color runs through the material
  • Common choice for targeted repairs when a match is available

Maintenance: Periodic washing. Panels can crack on hard impact and may fade over time; matching older colors can be difficult.

Fiber Cement Siding

Refined Appearance. Durable Performance.

A heavier, denser board with crisp lines that can read like painted wood.

  • Substantial, rigid boards
  • Crisp shadow lines
  • Factory or field finished
  • Detailed trim and joint work

Maintenance: Painted finishes need periodic inspection and repainting. Heavier boards require careful handling, cutting, and fastening.

Engineered Wood Siding

Natural Character. Engineered Protection.

Wood-based composite boards that offer a warm, natural look with a treated, engineered core.

  • Wood-like texture and depth
  • Long board lengths
  • Lighter than fiber cement
  • Paintable finish

Maintenance: Cut edges and joints must be sealed and moisture details kept in good shape. Inspect paint and caulk regularly.

Metal Siding

Contemporary Style. Distinctive Finishes.

Steel or aluminum panels used for modern horizontal or vertical looks and accent walls.

  • Clean, modern lines
  • Works well vertically
  • Non-combustible material
  • Pairs with board-and-batten styles

Maintenance: Can dent from hail or impact and scratches should be addressed to protect the finish. Fastening and trim details matter.

Know the signs

When your siding needs a closer look.

Look from the ground. Cracks, loose panels, open joints and changes around windows deserve attention before choosing a repair or replacement.

  • Cracked, punctured or missing panels
  • Loose edges or panels displaced after wind
  • Open joints at windows, corners or trim
  • Soft or deteriorated trim and fascia
  • New staining or signs of moisture near openings

05 / Exterior components

Cladding is only the visible layer.

Siding, the water-resistive barrier, flashing, trim, and ventilation each do a different job. A lasting exterior gets all of them right.

01

Soffit & Fascia

Soffit closes the underside of the roof overhang and can provide intake ventilation for the attic. Fascia is the board along the roof edge that supports a finished look and often carries the gutters.

02

Exterior Trim

Trim frames windows, doors, and corners. It finishes the edges where siding stops and helps direct water away from joints that are hard to seal.

03

House Wrap & Moisture Barrier

Siding is the outer cladding, but it is not watertight. The water-resistive barrier behind it is designed to shed water that gets past the siding while allowing the wall to dry.

04

Flashing & Water Protection

Flashing is formed metal or membrane at windows, doors, roof-to-wall intersections, and other transitions. It redirects water out and away from the wall instead of into it.

09 / Warranties

Two kinds of coverage. Know which is which.

Manufacturer product warranty

Siding manufacturers publish their own product warranties, and terms differ by brand, product line, and registration. We will point you to the current written terms for the specific product chosen for your home.

Workmanship coverage

Installation workmanship is separate from the product warranty. Ask us to put workmanship terms for your siding project in writing with your estimate. Roofing system warranties do not apply to siding.

10 / Cost & FAQs

What drives the price.

We do not publish generic siding prices. Your estimate reflects these factors on your home:

  • 01Material and profile
  • 02Wall area and stories
  • 03Openings, corners, and transitions
  • 04Condition behind the old siding
  • 05Soffit, fascia, and trim scope
  • 06Access and site conditions
Can one damaged siding panel be repaired?

Sometimes. The location and extent of damage, condition of adjacent material, fastening, weather barrier, and availability of a compatible profile or color all affect whether a targeted repair is practical.

What is the difference between vinyl and fiber cement siding?

They differ in weight, installation details, maintenance needs, appearance, and how they handle impact and moisture. The existing wall assembly and project priorities should be reviewed before choosing.

Can hail or wind damage to siding be part of an insurance claim?

It may be, depending on the policy and whether the damage resulted from a covered event. We document affected elevations, panels, trim, soffit, and fascia so the homeowner has clear information before deciding whether to open a claim.

Should I start with the siding page or the gutter page?

Choose the siding page for wall cladding, soffit, fascia, and trim. Choose the gutter page for roof drainage, downspouts, gutter guards, leaks, or overflow.

What affects the cost of a siding project?

The material, the wall area, the number of windows, doors, and corners, the condition of sheathing and weather barrier behind the old siding, trim, soffit and fascia work, and access all change the scope. We provide a written estimate after reviewing your home rather than publishing a generic price.
